actually that wasn't too poorly acted IMO, I've seen plenty worse. what annoyed me was Dom kind of went right back to his peppy little sidekick comments in acts following that scene, almost like the Maria incident never happened. devs disappoint me when they don't pay attention to things like that. :(
it's a possibility. but we also know that online gaming just isn't as mainstream as us hardcore types like to assume, don't we?
we'll never know for sure the full extent of re-buys, even when taking a lack of online gamers into consideration; so in the meantime all we can do is speculate (which is what you're doing).

why r u so ret@rded?? that was part of the act. MS was in on it, they clearly set that statement up for kojima kind of like a joke - else they would never bring up snake during a gigantic presentation for a game they know has no snake in it (the big, final highlight of their entire press conference no less).

kojima making a 360 game is pretty cool. but if it doesn't look as good as MGS4 then that might prove once and for all the PS3 wins, as far as pure graphics go.

well not here on n4g it didn't. the sonyfans like to refer to it as an 'elevator simulator'. but yeah people who aren't just being an arse mostly recognize ME as great.
ok I'm being a bit of a broken record here, but it really REALLY takes me out of a game sometimes when I get to some corny dialogue. which almost ALL games have in spades - except Mass Effect. 1st true console game for us 'grown-ups' with a brain IMO.
however, innovation seems to score lots of points with the GOTY judges. since ME2 will prob be more of the same as far as actual game mechanics, I think you're right that GOTY is not a sure thing.

the Council annoyed me after a while but I spared them for the sake of being a squeaky-clean good guy. plus I thought humanity would lose some credibility with the other races if I just casually sacrificed the Council.

go read The Audiophiliac blogs on cnet.com - and the associated comments. people there know what they're talking about when it comes to audio. and do u know what they're saying? 7.1 ain't worth it, somehow sounds more artificial (esp. for music, so yes for movies and gaming surround is a little better I admit). many of them are even swearing off 5.1 now, saying they'd rather have 2 good speakers and maybe a good sub if the speakers need some more low-end.

sad to see so many other XBL users were also duped into buying Magic: The Gathering. only 8 pre-made decks, customizable only by choosing whether to keep the 15-17 additional cards unlocked via campaign play.
well ok it's not THAT unenjoyable. as long as u didn't assume u could build your own custom decks for online play (I sure as h3ll did)... :(
